The one thing you can be sure of in life is that there will be times when you’re thrown a curve ball. Something will happen that you aren’t expecting.

Even though you know you’ve got the strength to handle anything that life brings you, you might still be taken aback by an unexpected change in your life direction.

These suggestions will help you successfully handle some of life’s transitional times:

1. Take a deep breath. Pause for a moment and give yourself time to just breathe.
2. Process the information. Next, allow yourself some time to think through what’s happened. This might take a few days, depending on your situation. From your perspective, what occurred?
3. Talk about it. Call a close friend or family member you trust and tell them about what’s going on in your life. It helps to hear yourself think aloud whenever you’re faced with an enduring challenge.
4. Consider your options. Although you might not be completely ready to move on yet, try to ponder fully your situation and where you could go from here. Be open-minded about resolving the current issues in the short-term.

• If your situation involves an ending of a relationship, for example, maybe you’ll have to find another place to live quickly. Could you move in with a friend or family member, at least for now? Ask yourself what your possibilities are at the present time.

1. Take time to adjust. You might feel you have to make decisions fairly quickly to get moving forward, but still, it’s wise to allow yourself necessary moments to adjust to what’s happening.
2. Tell yourself that you’ll make it through. After the initial shock wears off, you’ll hopefully reach the point of realizing that “this too shall pass.” Thinking positively is the best way to approach any type of challenging situation. Remind yourself that you have the savvy and fortitude to find your way from this day forward.
3. Begin to formulate a plan. After considerable thinking, you’ll be relieved to see parts of a new plan for your life falling in to place.
4. Recognize your own strengths. Remember back to a time you struggled through a crisis and emerged better than ever. Maybe you had to drop out of college because there wasn’t enough money. You still made it through and were able to return to finish your studies within 2 years. Realize your strength to help you make it through the current situation.
5. Look at the recent change as an opportunity. Even though it might take some effort, allow yourself to see you’re being given a chance to change your life. You’re in a position to improve something about your existence.

• Let your imagination run free. Regard the coming episode of your life as a new adventure and embrace it.

1. Move forward with a sense of purpose. Now that you have the bare bones of a plan, you can proceed ahead with your new life with greater confidence. As time goes by, you’ll grow even surer of the direction you’re heading. Let yourself feel excited about your new goals.

Regardless of what life brings your way, you’ll still keep going. Allow yourself time to breathe and take in the information. Perhaps even talk to someone and ponder your choices.

You have what it takes to successfully manage any transition in life that appears before you. Openly accept this opportunity to let go of the old and embrace the new.

When you find yourself in an uncomfortable, sticky situation with another person, you may feel challenged to figure out how you’ll resolve things. You may feel quite strongly about what’s happened or believe you’ve been disrespected in some way. You’re sure you’re “right.”

Most likely, however, you’ve heard the expression of “walking in another person’s shoes.” Have you ever put this idea to the test by applying it to a situation in your life? Doing so can dramatically open your eyes to a whole other way to view your circumstances, and may give you just the solution you’re looking for in your interpersonal interactions.

If nothing else, you’ll enrich your capacity to resolve struggles with others if you learn to put yourself in the other person’s shoes.

Follow these steps to see arguments from a different viewpoint and more easily resolve them:

1. Temporarily suspend your thoughts and feelings about your “side” of the argument. When you put aside your own reasoning and argument, you’re better able to see the view from the other perspective. Put down your position, at least for the moment.

2. Listen well. This step may be tougher than you think. When the other person is presenting their views, refrain from emphatically stating yours right back. For now, you’re just going to listen intently and with an open mind to what the other person sees from his viewpoint. You’ll most likely need to remind yourself, “I’m just listening right now.”

* How does the other person really feel? Do you understand why they feel that way?

3. Be neutral. Suspending your judgments and comments, try to gather information from the other person. How is he feeling? What is he thinking? What are his ideas on how to resolve the situation?

* Recognize that the other person might be adamant or stubborn about his point of view. Avoid allowing the person’s emotional state to influence you one way or the other.

4. Remind yourself that the other person cares. They are as passionate about their position as you are about yours.

5. Acknowledge that they have a right to their opinion. You’ll probably feel more relaxed in your encounter if you remind yourself that each human being has their own thoughts and opinions and they vary from person to person. And that’s okay.

6. Just for a moment, consider agreement. What would it feel like to agree with the person? Did they present a good argument? Take a few minutes to thoughtfully consider how accepting the other person’s “shoes” would affect you.

* Imagine what would happen for him and for you if you went along with his resolution.

7. Ask yourself: is this situation a big deal? Acknowledge to yourself that the conflict may not be as important as you first thought. In fact, now that you’ve calmed down and seen his view of things, you may notice that the dispute wasn’t worth the energy either of you were investing in being “right.”

8. Evaluate a compromise. Can you meet halfway to settle the dispute? If you give a little and he gives a little, you might be able to negotiate out of the conflict. Do you think you’re willing to meet halfway? If so, let him know. Ask if he’s open to doing the same.

* Find win-win solutions where you both get something you want.

9. Respect his position and agree to disagree. There will be times when you can’t totally concur with someone regarding a situation. At least if you can respectfully agree to disagree, you’ve reached a resolution of sorts.

Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes is an enlightening experience. If you set your own feelings aside and listen without judgment, you’ll see the other person is as passionate as you are about the issue at hand.

As you begin to see the other person’s view and recognize the situation isn’t earth-shattering, you can begin to think about meeting each other halfway. And in the end, you always have the option to politely disagree once you put yourself in the other person’s shoes.

There has been much power playing around these past couple of weeks – so interesting to watch it play out and so hope this article helps some

Its been 15 days since my last blog entry and I feel like this sounds like on the movies when you see someone go into the confession box haha but its been a busy time and you see so often on peoples blogs that they apologise for not blogging for however many days or they send out newsletters and say sorry I haven’t send one for so long.  I say why do we feel guilty for that ??? Life gets busy and things go by the way side. We hear from the “marketing gurus” that you need to blog everyday or every other day and when you miss one the guilt sets in and the panic (school of peace) that oh my community won’t love me anymore (school of love) , or you go over in your mind battling with it (school of wisdom) or you feel like you are not serving everyone properly (school of service).

To that I say “whateva !!!  :)”  its ok – really it is. No-one puts more pressure on us than ourselves – so stop it and the world is still spinning and the laundry can wait, give yourself a break …. ok I will and so here I am.

These past few weeks have been interesting to say the least.  (When is it not).  I started this blog with the headline or A year of endings.  What I mean by that is that I have decided to let some things go.  Things that I really didn’t want to but it is taking up space rent free in my head and so I figured that it was time to release things to make space for even better to come along.

I recently held a Goddess Gathering in The Goddess Shed after coming back from Goddess on Purpose event.  It was a big one – the biggest one yet with over 40 people booked in and we had 34 attend.  It was an awesome night, we talked, we meditated, we danced, we shared, we learnt.  For my guest speaker we had Michele Scott from Spiritual House share her wisdom about numerology.  I love this modality as it gives us insight into our Life Purpose, karmic lessons, plus much more (which is why I am hosting in The Goddess Shed a numerology 12 week course by Michele coming soon) but that is not what this is about.  Well it sort of is.

I am in a personal year of 9 since my last birthday and what I learnt was that the 9 year is about endings.  So something is coming to an end this year for me and it is in preparation for the 1 year of new beginnings next year.  I thought to myself oh dear that doesn’t sound all that sexy but alas I felt deep inside it was so true.  What would I loose ??? What did I have to release ???.  (I was secretly hoping it was nothing too dramatic …. yes hoping to cruise through it quietly lol). But the more I thought about it, meditated on it, pulled cards for it the more it became clear what it might be.

It wasn’t just one “thing” it was lots of things actually.  Ways of communicating with people and speaking my truth, it was ways in which I was working in my business (no more hard out go go go all the time), it was the ways in which I held space for other people, the way in which I put others needs before my own just so they didn’t feel uncomfortable even though I was the one feeling uncomfortable. Boundaries that before were too open are now being roped back in for this Goddess and also the way I expressed my Life Purpose in my business.  The awesome journey is reshaping everyday – and so look out for new formats of connection coming out.

Closing loops is a phrase I love – for there are things that need completing.  Being able to look at these loops and sorting them will clear lots of the clutter out.

Its not all doom and gloom in any shape or form though – it feels good and exciting and exhilirating for it is 2012 .  I have been introduced to another level or conciousness that when I learnt about it – it just made sense.

And so heres to a Year of Endings, loops being closed, old ways of doing things , changing for the better.  There maybe tears – there maybe sighs of relief, but there certainly will be growth.  For this is time for Joy and Playfullness, of being light in body mind and spirit. Lets celebrate all we have right now and bring it on !!! Woo hoo !!!

I have been watching The Biggest Loser here in Australia and what an awesome journey the contestants have been on. So wonderful they have busted through their self-loathing and one thing they have all learnt to do was to truly love themselves again and realise they are beautiful people from the inside out. Inspiring many.

Last year I actually met one of the contestants from last years Biggest Loser on our Goddess Playshop stand at the Sydney Mind Body Spirit festival. I thought I recognised her but she didn’t let on who she was. I did the Goddess-ence chakra test with her and there was still some self love she needed to do for herself. It was then she said that she had lost a lot of weight that year (still not saying she was from the Biggest loser) but that she had split with her partner (who was also on the show) and she still has trouble realising she still isn’t that “big woman” she use to be. In other words her outside (she was slim and gorgeous) still did not match her insides. I wondered if The Biggest loser really was just a show that worked on the outside and not the inside beliefs and self love. I really hoped she would get herself to one of our Goddess Playshops so she could really tap into her Inner Goddess.

This years Biggest Loser felt different though. All the contestants seem to have come to the realisation that they are truly beautiful and it all starts on the inside so perhaps they are doing more work on the inside too.

So I am sharing a Reflection called “I am Proud of my Body” today. Love every inch of yourself dear ones. You are special because you are here. And I am so happy that you are. Many blissings Luanne

I am proud of my body

I have a positive relationship with my body – therefore I can live in my physical self with joy. I am thankful for all the many things I can accomplish in the physical world each day. I am proud of my body and all that it does for me.

My eyes allow me to read a novel, textbook, or favorite magazine. My fingers help me button my clothes, pick up a pencil to write, or find what I am looking for in a desk drawer. My voice conveys my thoughts and intentions to the world, and my ears hear what is said in return. And my brain powers all of this.

What a marvelous machine my body is!

I am always able to love my body. My weight may fluctuate. My memories may come and go. Wrinkles may form on my skin as a natural product of aging. But my body has served me all the days of my life and it continues to do so today. For this, I am grateful, and proud of my body.

When I have a heavy package to lift, my body is there for me. If I cannot pick up the item by myself, my brain helps me find assistance. And if I try anyway, and feel pain, I feel grateful and proud of my body for letting me know when enough is enough!

Today, I am thankful for all my body does for me.

I feel confident in the physical world, and, although my abilities may change over time, my body always lets me know what it can and cannot do. I am proud of my body every single day.

It truly was a Magical experience, one that I will never forget.  Women from all over Australia, 2 from New Zealand and 1 from USA gathered for the Inaugural Goddess on Purpose Gold Coast Event.  And yes we even had 5 amazing men come share in the event – supporting all the Goddesses in the room.  I planned this event and with my dedicated team we birthed it out into the world. The women who came, really invested in themselves.  Not only in financial side as we held the event in a 5 star resort on the Gold Coast, but they invested spiritually also.

Our guest speakers, Baeth Davis, Stacey Currie & Gloria Hamilten (assisted by her gorgeous daughter Alpha Murgev) all shared amazing heartfelt and inspiring content that each Goddess drew from.

Our divine Sponsors were the perfect people to share their services and products.

The connections that were made bring tears to my eyes, their beaming faces and hearts shone brightly.  The grey matter got a workout too with our KPI’s for Life and Business.  90 Day plans were hatched and the Goddess Sisterhood grew larger this weekend.

We called in the 7 Goddesses and each of us felt them present and got messages to implement into our lives.  Its a HUGE thing to put on an event like this.  Many were amazed and spoke to me about it. How did I do it. Not once did I say to myself “What was I thinking ??”  (ok maybe once but no more than that).  I had already seen in my minds eye exactly how it would happen, but it even exceeded my expectations.

And yes I shared my life mess / messages with them all.  Sharing these intimate details of myself, took courage but being a Goddess on Purpose is about being Authentic – and Goddess Athena was ever present. There is no shame in sharing .

They loved the whole Vibe that was created and I call that
“When Women Gather, Magic Happens”.

I am sooo honoured to have been able to facilitate it …. and I am also already planning our next years event.  For now I just wanted to share the “Exquisiteness of the Goddesses”.  To remind you all of the Power and Beauty within.  We are the CENTRE of our Universe and the Ripple effect can be felt all around the world.  Thank you Goddesses for being part of this …….. Magic.

Well today was the 10 day of the 30 Day challenge.

It was a happy day in the Simmons household because today I got to eat some protein.
Yes the 1st 10 days were pretty good, the metabolism is kick started again.

Feeling pretty good and a few kilos lighter (bonus !!). The trick is to prepare your
meals the night before haha not while trying to do kids lunches, brush their hair and trying to
finding their homework in the morning. All while trying to head out the door to drop them off
to school.

I must confess I did that a couple of times but normally had a meal left over from the night
before or put a cup of broth on. So all good there.

Egg quiches

Now I get to have eggs, salmon, tuna, and other things added in to the 12 small meals I need to consume.
I made little mini quiches with salmon, sweet potatoe, spinach and eggs, yummmmmmooooooo !!!!.

My 10000 steps are coming along nicely and the morning training got the better of me a couple of days there BUT
I am back on track and Derek and Sally will see you in the morning (via dvd )

Hard to believe its been 10 days – a flash really.

So here are my meals for tomorrow – so colourful and yummy.
